“Work in Progress” Screening in S.F. Bay Area
On July 20, director/producer Nick Spark and producer Mona Lisa Yuchengco will be hosting a “work in progress” screening in Menlo Park, California. This is an exciting opportunity for us to share our “rough cut” with an audience of friends and supporters, and get some insight into how the film is working. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area or know someone who does, please come and/or share the news. This is your chance to get a “sneak peek” at what we’ve been working on for over two years, a film that’s taken the RIGHTFOOTED team to Africa, Asia, plus four states and Washington, D.C. Along the way we’ve filmed Jessica doing some amazing things, seen her get married, witnessed her making a profound impact, and watched her growing as a human being. As you’ll see when you watch the film.
Speaking of screenings, we recently showed the film to Jessica and Patrick. The two were in town for another reason entirely — Jessica was competing in the American Taekwondo Association’s regional event — but we figured it was a good time for them to see the film. Watching two years of your life on a big screen was pretty overwhelming, especially with friends and family in the audience, and when the lights came up there was a lot of emotion in the room — tears, smiles, and perhaps even a sense of relief. Jessica, who was silent for a number of minutes after the screening ended, finally composed herself and was able to express that the film far exceeded her (very high) expectations. We can’t wait to begin sharing it with the world. Of course a lot of hard work and fundraising are ahead, but this was a banner moment in the history of RIGHTFOOTED!
