Bring Right Footed to Your Home Town!
Right Footed continues its film festival run in 2016, including our premiere in the UK in the Manchester International Film Festival. Additional screenings venues include San Francisco, Cleveland, Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia.
Now there’s a new way to see Right Footed outside of film festivals! As of today, we’ve entered a new and exciting phase of distribution. We’re excited to announce that, through a platform called Tugg, you’ll be able to bring our award-winning documentary to a venue in your home town. Tugg is a “screening-on-demand” service that has deals in place with movie theaters across the USA, and you can also easily bring the documentary to your club, church, school or other venue. In other news, we’re humbled to have received the following comments from Judith Heumann, the Special Adviser for International Disability Rights to the Obama Administration and a life-long activist and key supporter of the ADA. Judy came to a special screening of the film last year in Washington, D.C. sponsored by Handicap International USA, and gave an emotional speech in which she praised Jessica’s work in support of the CRPD disability treaty. Judy wrote about the film: “Right Footed tells Jessica Cox’s story as a leader who perseveres with a strong belief in herself and a strong commitment to work with others. This film’s key message is that we can do more than we think we can. We cannot allow ourselves to be limited, nor let others limit us. This film is an educational tool for viewers around the world to see Jessica as a role model and to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities.” Thanks so much Judy — it’s a honor to have had you at our screening and we’re grateful for the kind words.
